Commission on Community Relations

[Meeting Schedules and Archived Agendas]

The Oxnard Commission on Community Relations consists of seven members appointed to identify and advise the City Council on problems of discrimination in the community and to promote better human relations among all city residents.

The Commission sets a “Meeting Schedule” on an annual basis. They generally meet on the Third Monday of each month. Meetings typically begin at 6:00 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, located at 305 West Third Street in Oxnard, and are televised “live” on Time Warner Cable, Channel 10.

A public comment period is scheduled at the beginning of each meeting for residents to comment on matters within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Commission. Written comments regarding scheduled agenda items are always encouraged.

The Commission also conducts an annual Strategic Planning Meeting (typically held in January). The commission invites other City divisions to give the commission input, ideas and concerns involving individual departments. This meeting then allows the Commission to schedule topics addressing the community on various subjects.

If you have any questions or topic suggestions regarding the Commission on Community Relations, please call Luis Güereca (805) 385-8326 or Desiré Ventura (805) 385-8325.

The complete agenda is made available to the public after 5 p.m. on the Thursday before the meeting. The agenda is posted in the kiosk just outside the back entrance to City Hall (305 West Third Street).
