2010 Children's Water Science Exploratorium

MEDIA ADVISORY:

2010 Children’s Water Science Exploratorium
Annual water fair designed to teach local students about all things water and the importance of conserving it.

WHEN: June 8, 2010 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
WHAT: Annual educational event designed to teach 3rd grade students all about water and the importance of conserving our most precious resource.
WHO: City of Oxnard
WHERE: Oxnard Performing Arts and Convention Center 800 Hobson Way Oxnard, CA 93030
WHY: A combination of pumping restrictions in the San Joaquin/Sacramento River Delta, over drafted aquifers, and 3 years of drier than average conditions have made water conservation a way of life in Oxnard. By educating our community’s youth about the importance of water in a fun and interactive way, the Water Resources Division aims to inspire a new generation of water supply stewards.
PHOTO OP: Students engaged in hands-on activities, including density demonstrations, a live ocean touch-tank, creation of a water cycle book mark, construction of an edible water molecule, and more!
