Closure of Intersection at Ventura Road and Gonzales Road

GREAT Program Recycled Water Pipeline Construction Project

UPCOMING ROAD WORK

Work continues on the Ventura Road construction project between Gonzales Road and Vineyard Avenue. Traffic controls remain in place on Ventura Road with one lane open in each direction.

Starting Monday, July 12 through Sunday, July 18 construction is scheduled to start in the intersection of Ventura Road and Gonzales Road. Through traffic will not be available on Gonzales Road. Detour signs will be posted for eastbound traffic on Gonzales Road; motorists will be advised to use Patterson Road to Doris Avenue. Detour signs will also be posted for westbound traffic on Gonzales Road: motorists will be advised to use H Street to Doris Avenue.

Additional work in the intersection is also tentatively scheduled for the weekend of July 24 and July 25. It is expected that there will be less traffic impacts for work occurring on July 24 and 25. Traffic signs will be posted and additional information will be provided before work begins.

While the closure to through traffic on Gonzales Road will create a temporary inconvenience to the community, the closure will help the City with its efforts to minimize construction related impacts and expedite the project. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated as we move forward with these infrastructure improvements that address current and future needs of our city. Residents are asked to be watchful in construction areas and remember to “slow for the cone”.

All dates and locations are subject to change. For more information, contact the City’s Call Center at 805 385-8136 or visit www.OxnardNews.org.
